I'm lucky enough to enjoy her way of doing things and not get bored (yet). Her formula works for me. I take those little sparkles of innovation (like FANTASY and CAMERA, LIGHTS, ACTION) and I'm content.
Of course, she NEEDS to build a better stage presence. But I think she's getting better, perfomance after performance.
(And I'm stopping here, because I'm a major stan and if I keep going, I may end writing an essay, lol. Kanayan is actually my second japanese favourite singer, after Ayu! <3)

Haha, you're probably right. I guess for me, her themes have gone a bit stale because I've been a fan since pretty much the second she released her debut single. Its been a long time. I've always held on to the hope that one day she would break out of her vanilla shell. And kinda realizing its not gonna happen makes me wonder if the vanilla is really her, or all her record label? And maybe that's my biggest fear: the realization that the singer whom I'm been a fan of for so long, since the first second, might not actually be... her, just a product of her label. Or, is she really just so vanilla and I've never going to see any growth, which would be a little disappointing.
