(^_^ Sorry for posting yet another thread tonight...I've been really curious to hear peoples' thoughts on this subject...)
Ayumi Hamasaki of course is well-known for writing lyrics that are very introspective, thought-provoking, honest, and detailed about her own feelings. But, she manages to write such lyrics with room for interpretation. With this being the case, some of her songs can really reach out to people. Some may relate to specific lyrics of hers, for instance.
Sorry if mine get too personal. XD You don't have to go too deep if it makes you uncomfortable. I always wondered if her lyrics touched other people's hearts the way it does to me.
-Which songs do you relate to?
-Is there ever a song of Ayu's that describes a part of your life, your feelings, or anything else?

The songs I feel most personally connected to:
-Memorial Address: I think it still holds a personal meaning for me even now.
Not to just spill my guts about sad, personal feelings, but Memorial Address was my first Ayu song and has mysteriously matched up with my life in such strange ways. The lyrics probably applied to Ayu differently than they do to me, but that doesn't make them any less meaningful to me. With the suicide of one of my closest friends, this song couldn't describe my feelings at the time any better. I mean, it even rained for what felt like forever that summer after he died. Almost every line in this song matched my feelings to a "T." Because of this, it has actually made it hard to listen or watch her perform this song but it really might be my most favorite song of hers.
The craziest part of this song that I relate to, though, is how I too had this bad premonition that I was going to lose this person very soon. He had managed to slip from my fingers and be fairly distant. He died in the summer, but from January of that same year I had a bad feeling that he was going to die.
-A Song for XX and Memorial Address both served as my source of comfort several years before my friend's death, too, actually. When my family was having some tough times, these songs described my feelings pretty darn well too. XD
-Though I feel as though this one is more random, Real Me describes feelings I've had about being a woman though not as deeply as some lyrics.
-Hanabi ~Episode II~ is a song that I relate to very well, too. It reminds me of when I went on a school trip to Florida and I was with the guy I've had feelings for since Junior High (in other words, for at least six to seven years) and that trip was this great time of intense feelings and love but I have to move on and hope for his happiness. ^_^
-Walking Proud
-RAINBOW makes me think of a lot of the deep, personal relationships I've had, mostly with my best friend... (who just happens to be the guy mentioned above... XD)... Some people may find this odd, but I find these lyrics actually remind me of my transformation through becoming serious about my Christianity. XD
-Bold & Delicious... I've seriously had to put up this kind of persona many times. XD
- (Miss)understood... I think a lot of people could relate to these lyrics, honestly...
-Untitled ~for her~: for the same reason as Memorial Address, just replace ~for her~ with ~for him.~
-NEXT LEVEL, do it again, and Microphone are all feelings I've had about my art. I'm an art student and I've been drawing since I was a very small child... these lyrics are like all of the different moods that hit me concerning my art.

Now that I've officially rambled on and on, tell me what songs you relate to!! ;D
