'kamisama' is an interesting word in Japanese. It could mean a lot of things--there's no differentiation between what Christians think of as God, or the spirits that are worshipped in the Shinto religion. My explanation is a little too simplistic; you can read more about it on wiki:

Perhaps a better, less polarizing translation would be:
After all, this love
is the greatest gift in the world
But really, it all just comes down to interpretation.
