Idk though because Koda Kumi's last cover album sold less than her last studio album.
But Ayu's Movin' on without you cover really left an impression on japanese people didn't it? The video of the song performed at CDL on her official channel has been viewed 888 000 times whereas Zutto...'s video has been viewed less than 100 000 times, so unfair imo, i don't like it that people suddenly have an interest in her because of a cover but doesn't care about her personal work
I mean if upon discovering the cover the general public was like "Oh she did great! Maybe we were wrong forgetting about her, let's go see what she's up to now!" it'd be great, but this is not happening.
I don't know if i'd like her to do an album full of covers, i like it that she does some from time to time, but if she announced that she was going to release an album full of those, i wouldn't be excited.
