In the past when AHS mods have put a ban on things like JP music physically released in the states, members have done a good job of reporting it when it happens, discouraging it socially through their comments, etc. and mods have done a good job removing the offending posts until eventually it was a non-issue and, aside from brand-new members who didn't know the rules yet, the sharing did phase out after awhile.

I'm admittedly asking for a social shift to happen, but that shift CAN happen - and I've seen it happen at various forums, in various networks, and in various fandoms over the last 15 years. I'm optimistic that if everyone actually tries, then it will work and it won't take long.

Hearing about how Koda Gumi works, I'm not especially surprised.... it seems more and more like Kuu's people and Ayu's people just think of their respective fan clubs very differently. Ayu has, quite literally, been insulted by her fan club members in the past. Ayu's fan club members got nasty after CDL 01-02 so she had to close her TeamAyu BBS.

But I think the turning point was when she posted about Aneki's death, and PEOPLE READ EXCERPTS OF THAT POST ON TV NEWS. That was absolutely disastrous for the fan club. She was really upset by that. THAT is the kind of sharing that's sorta poisoned the well for us... if we share cover art or videos now, that counts against us as club members far more than other fan clubs, I think. I think that post getting publicly broadcast was a major blow to Ayu's faith in her fan club members keeping things "in the group." With things like the Summer diary PV, we're being tested (whether it's deliberate on Ayu & avex's part or not) and we fail EVERY SINGLE TIME.
