I actually don't like the sound of madarin (or cantonese for that matter) a lot in songs. I don't understand a lot of japanese, but I think it sounds a lot more pleasant for some reason and it' much much easier to sing along to songs in japanese if you don't know the language than it is in chinese (or korean for that matter). Of course it doesn't make it or break it if I really like a song.
I think gunjou no tani would've been a great direction for her to continue in, but my fav song is probably sakura modern. =P She never really found her niche in the japanese market it seemed.
