Ugh. IMHO, Ayu has done absolutley everything she can to be diplomatic, but fans have been screwing that up for years.
Ayu's twitter presence has been a privilege, and I'm delighted I ever got a reply from Ayu. ^_^ But some fans acted like it was something they had a right to. These photos & tweets were always HERS to give, not OURS to read and interpret however we wanted to.
Like some others here, I saw nothing cryptic in her tweets at all. And whenever Ayu has had truly major, big news, she's ALWAYS been up-front about it - stuff like the death of someone close to her, and the startings & endings of her relationships (as soon as she knew a "starting" was serious, anyway), and even her ear... It might take her awhile to say something if it's hard for her, but she always does say something.
The lack of trust fans have that Ayu would say "Yes, this is happening" as soon as she was ready to is just baffling and disturbing for me.
And poor Ayu had to deal with this crap on the TeamAyu BBS years ago and it got closed... She probably thought things might be better now, but apparently not.
Stuff like this happens and it's not hard to see why TA doesn't really get the closeness with Ayu that members got back in 2003 and earlier.
If I were her I don't think I'd be handling it well either. Just for the sake of her own sanity, getting off Twitter may not be the worst idea.

Just adding my translation of "kanariya" because I think the two different uses of the word "naku" are deliberate (since Ayu used kanji for one and hiragana in the other, according to the kanariya single), and this translation of the first verse is different (I've used "~iku" as a verb ending instead of a separate word here, even though there's a pause in the vocals & a line break).
