It's easier to take something original and make it better than it is to create something original. I think the problem with Ayu is that her music is too predictable, even when she crosses genres. And a lot of that has to do with her, and a lot has to do with her studio team.

It's also worth note that artists like Seiko, Dolly Parton, and others who never evolve sound just as boring. To be honest, I'm surprised Seiko even sells records considering a mashup of her entire career would sound like one song.
