More details on MatsuJun's new drama 99.9

Arashi’s Matsumoto Jun (32) will star in the upcoming TBS drama entitled 「99.9ーKeiji Senmon Bengoshiー」(99.9ーInvestigative Lawyerー）which will air every Sunday 9 PM starting on April 17. This will be his first time to play the role of a lawyer.

Dealing with cases in which there is a 99.9% chance of the defendant being found guilty of the crime, Fukuyama (Matsumoto), a nonconformist rookie investigative lawyer, gambles on the remaining 0.1% to investigate and expose the truth behind the crime. This drama is sure to give the viewers a thrilling kind of entertainment.

Matsujun previously played the lead character in the Fuji TV winter 2014 drama Shitsuren Chocolatier. It has been two years since. This is his first lead role in a Sunday night TBS drama.

Moreover, this will be his first time to play the role of a lawyer. “I’ve finally reached this age where I can take on this kind of role and act as a lawyer.”, says Matsumoto. There will also be scenes in the drama where Fukuyama shows off his cooking skills. “I want to cook appetising dishes.”, Matsumoto exclaimed.

Kagawa Teruyuki (50) will play the role of Fukuyama’s superior. Eikura Nana (28) will play the role of Fukuyama’s colleague. When asked about his opinion of Matsujun, Kagawa states, “He has a good reputation regardless of who you ask.”

It’s been 3 years since the NHK drama Hajimari no Uta in which Matsumoto and Eikura appeared together. “Matsumoto-san always tells me that I haven’t changed. This time, I’ll try my best so he’ll avoid telling me that.”

An enthusiastic Matsumoto admits, “I’ll be working closely with a variety of actors and performers. This is surely going to be an interesting drama.”

The TBS drama entitled 「99.9ーKeiji Senmon Bengoshiー」 will air every Sunday 9 PM starting on April 17.
