Ayumi Hamasaki countdown concert going online
Internet provider Internet Initiative Japan Inc. (IIJ) will operate an online relay of a live concert by pop diva Ayumi Hamasaki through its broadband delivery platform, it has been announced.
The popular singer is due to perform her "Ayumi Hamasaki Countdown Live" concert in Tokyo between 11 p.m. on Dec. 31 to 1 a.m. on Jan. 1.
IIJ will relay the concert in connection with Excite Japan Co., whose subscribers with broadband Internet connections will be able to see Hamasaki perform for a cost of between 1,000 and 2,000 yen.
Hamasaki is one of the most popular pop singers in Japan, whose recent single "Voyage" has dominated the music charts in Japan. She was awarded the top prize at the 43rd Japan Record Awards at the end of last year.
