Well, according to Ayu's interviews she apparently doesn't really care about sales. And seeing the lack of promotion I believe this. I mean, obviously, she'd want to make some profit and probably would be happy if the release sold well, but it's not her goal.
Perhaps she actually wants to stay kinda out of spotlight. She's had enough of it already, and I can only imagine how hard it must be, so imo she deserves some rest and it's perfectly fine that she mostly works for herself because she enjoys it and for her fans.
