I didn't know Nightwish was really all that obscure.. Most of the people I know at least know of Nightwish. Maybe just in your part of the US, then.
By the way, I listen to this Boston-based rock band called Big Top Vertigo. I've yet to run into anyone who even knows from them, aside from a friend of mine in Boston.
