It's a play with her name.
You have to read the numbers seperately, like a telephone number e.g.
9 and 3 are normally pronounced as kyu and san in Japanese. But there's also a second pronounciation (so called on and kun yomi btw) - 9 as ku and 3 as mi. So 9 3 is Kumi. They're using this throughout her career already.
And as September 3rd is written 9.3. in Japanese, it's the day of Kumi.

And yeah, it doesn't work as 93, but I guess they don't care for stylistical purposes, lol
