I don't see how her pretty pretty princess fabulous diva image helped her seem any more relatable than if she were to go more street lol.
And being placed into a box definitely goes against what I believe Ayu stands for.
Mixture music can be extremely melodic, and Dragon Ash is a perfect example of mixing rap, hip hop and rock music. Many of their songs I personally believe could be incorporated into Ayus discography. I personally wasn't suggesting she be the next twerking Nikki Minaj...though if that's what she wanted to do I'd at least give it a chance.
Rap and hip hop can be extremely moving and powerful. And for people who fight so hard for other types of music to be respected, a la trance, it's unfortunate to see other types shot down...I can understand not liking a genre, as I am not a fan of metal and trendier dance music, but I welcome any experimentation. It's about her expressing herself.
