I have seen ayu live 6 times in the past 5 years. She has good and bad days like everyone else, but sounds good to awesome 80 percent of the time. I am sure she takes enough breaks in between and rests properly as after all she is her own boss and there are extended periods of time where we don't hear much from her.

I went to Tokyo Auto Salon concert on Saturday, that's when I realised again how bad Ayu vocals are. When you hear someone as genuinely good at singing as Aikawa Nanase there's no way you can say that Ayu's vocals are awesome. All 3.5 hour show artists line up was amazing, I forgot how amazing naturally talented singers are. I won't say that Ayu is very bad, but can't come close to them.
