I really miss all her tie-ins, and her crazy music release schedule. It was always so exciting to hear snippets of songs before they were released, and then to see how they changed between the time the commercial was released and the actual song was released.

All of these videos have got me feeling some kind of nostalgia (Ayu, take a hint for your 20th Anniversary promo). It's really amazing how much she's the same, and how much she's different. I've been a fan since ~ the Kanariya single, and I've had periods of time when I was more or less into what she was releasing, but man watching some of this stuff...it's amazing how time has passed. Talkin' 2 Myself is going to be 10 years old this year. And all of this really got me thinking...it's true that the average Japanese person doesn't know her current music, or that she's even really still actively releasing music -- but, at the same time, she's still one of the top selling solo female acts, so it's not like she's completely obscure. And thinking back, people have really been counting her out for YEARS (pretty much from Rainbow onwards), and she's still here and still doing better than most of her peers. So as much as I would love to see a massive comeback, or see her given more respect/less focus on her personal situations, it really is amazing how consistently successful she's been over the years, and sometimes I don't think any of us give her enough credit for that.
