I don't know why I'd skinny shame anyone. I know people all look different and come in different "sizes" naturally. And I myself was a very skinny child naturally who ate normally so it's not like that is something super alien to me. But just like you, Miliyah is one of my favorite artists (if not all time favorite) and if I see something that I feel looks a bit too extreme - I react by putting that out there. Simply out of concern.

IMO, literally all of Jpop artists are quite skinny but all have always looked normal to me. Especially taking in consideration that Asian people are naturally leaner. But I've never seen anyone really looking like Miliyah does. Now, that probably does have to do with her exercise program - but it's just that - I've never really seen any other Jpop artist looking like that and I got concerned.

In any case, thank you so much for your posts. They really made me feel better about this whole thing with her. I was almost convinced she had an eating disorder but now I see that might not be the case after all which I seriously hope for.
Yeah it's good you call out your concerns, especially since they come from a good place the reason Miliyah's body type is so concerning is because of how rare it is. One she's abnormally short and abnormally fit & lean. That combination is very rare. Because she's so small it really amplifies everything. Plus it's very rare to see someone maintain being that lean and small. Supermodels probably have the same body fat percentage as Miliyah but it's not as concerning because they're so tall they don't look fragile. Miliyah just has a very rare body type that people aren't used too. Also because it's so hard to achieve. So I applaud her for being able to gain and maintain it in a hopefully healthy way.

Plus seeing how energetic she is live and in her videos. I doubt she'd be able to keep up if she wasn't healthy. Her energy never screams malnourished. It would be impossible for her to keep up with all that choreography and exercise if she wasn't eating properly.

Sorry for all my word vomit. Fitness and body weight is something I deal with daily. So it's something I'm always thinking about. So I just have a lot of opinions on it all hahaha. Also I've marathoned like 3 seasons of Top Model, where they constantly tell the models to eat and show their diet/exercise routine and how they maintain being lean. Tyra literally said one episode "I ate throughout my whole career" after she surprised the models with a buffet of soul food haha. If anything the show increased my appetite more hahaha.

P.S I learned the best recipe from top model Kale Pesto Pasta it's soo good it's like my favorite thing to eat now haha

In a majority of Asian culture the spectrum of what's skinny is a lot harsher. I always thought Utada Hikaru was skinny in her video "Prisoner of Love" and when I'd show the video to white people they'd say she's skinny. But showing my Asian friends they said she's fat. O_o she has become a lot more refined and lean since then though.

Again Miliyah's Body type height, weight, body fat percentage are all a rare combination. The only other celebrities I can think of with a similar body type are the Veronica's. They've had to battle off people thinking they have eating disorders. http://www.news.com.au/entertainment...cbded69e4e0959 They've been that abnormally slender and lean for a long time now. And have to prove again and again that they're healthy. I too was in the majority believe they weren't. But now I do believe they're healthy after more research. Zoe Kravitz (Who I adore to death) had a similar body type to Miliyah's but I'm not sure how healthy that was because she did it for the movie Mad Max playing an anorexic character. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz...-anorexic.html
I feel we freak out when we see slender frames based on how rare it is. Very few people have the self control to maintain such a strict diet and exercise routine. And most people into fitness want to be more muscular and lean rather then slender and lean.

And thank you for reading all my word vomit. I was just ranting the facts I've gathered that I believe to be true It was nice having someone to converse with on this topic!
