I think the wedding dress tradition would be easily refreshed just by switching the type of wedding dress up. There are so many different styles of bridal gowns. Ayu mostly always wears a ballroom/princess type of gown. Maybe if she tried a form fitting mermaid style it would feel fresher with a different look. But the miles long train might not be possible then.
