You're totally right.
This was my first Ayumi concert ever, and vocals aside, it was an amazing experience. Her concerts are meant to be felt and heard together in the arena with that huge crowd, and I don't know if a live, or this one, could capture that accurately.
Not only that, but with as often as Ayu tours, I think a lot of fans in Japan(who lets be honest, that is the target audience of her concerts) really get used to the experience of going to her show every year and hearing the same songs. Perhaps if you only watch her through a screen, it gets dull, but once you experience it, it's totally different.
