I'm not here to be just biased and yell about how Ayu is so much better and AKB48 are nothing compared to her...
...but I just don't understand the appeal of their music. Everything else about them makes sense to me in terms of their popularity...that huge of an idol group, etc. is really actually a cool idea. But man...their music....
