I'm not sure I'd go as far as calling it
trash, but the single mix does definitely have less energy and I think it suffers from having less sonic spice and grit, which the album mix has in abundance. To mention a positive for the single mix, I like the change in dynamic when it moves into the first chorus: after Keiko yells out "wanna be a dreammaker!", the instrumentation goes very quiet and the vocals stand out much more. It would be even more effective if the rest of the song were louder (like the album mix), but it's still a moment I like.

What I like about globe's songs prior to their transition to a more direct trance sound in the 2000s is that the composition of the songs is slightly familiar but also unusual. Sometimes at first listen something about the song seems off or disjointed but the more I listen the more I discover different sounds and little melodies and rhythms buried in the music.

Wow, top 10 for Perfume of love? I've never really seen anyone consider it one of their top globe tracks. I think I'll give it another chance...
By "prior to the transition to a more direct trance sound", are you referring to the Relation era, the singles leading up to the release of CRUISE RECORD, or even the outernet era? In any case, I definitely agree that songs from that time are definitely some of their most unusual, with varying results.

Also loving reading your thoughts Kacku ! Gets me looking forward to all the great Globe songs I have yet to hear!

Yeah, that's the single version. The album version on Relation is more energetic, gritty, and noisy (in a good way).
So nice to hear you enjoyed my comments!

I hope you end up loving many more globe songs once you get to them!
