Number 2, even if the person checking your ticket knows it's not yours, most Japanese will be too scared because of the language barrier to even attempt to bring it up; it's much easier for them to just wave you through.
My fanspace account was registered in Japan and I was unable to even put hiragana or katakana for my name and had to make my own makeshift Kanji name that would phonetically come close to matching mine. It's six characters and looks ridiculous, lol; never once got questioned at venue, asked to see my passport, et cetera.

Because of the hype over how the lottery became more strict this time. They've never written they were going to check names in the rules before, I think.
