if you look at this article, what Ayu said is that both her and NHK agreed to this, but after all we don't know if it was her decision to begin with (she didn't feel like performing there and wanted to focus on CDL) or NHK's (Ayu wasn't popular anymore so they wanted to cut her out of the show).
