I actually just rewatched the Lady Dynamite video and some of my memory came back to me. I do remember some backlash in the youtube comments all those years ago. I know I was a bit shocked back then too but I just kind of got over it and moved on. It didn't bother me too much because it just looked like an American music video but with Ayu and tons of men everywhere.
I use eneabba often. He didn't mention anything like that as a reason for no longer updating the site. In fact I think he writes that he still owns Ayu's stuff and still listens to her. I would be a bit sad if this is the real reason he left the fandom. Was there anything specifically that he said that was homophobic? I don't think not liking the Lady Dynamite video equals homophobia.
