Hot DAMN Femme Fatale is good! I think it immediately became my favourite album of hers, was not expecting that.

I think dramatic downtempo is a good way to describe much of the album. And when the mood isn't dramatic, it still leans toward dark and pensive, so the whole album is remarkably consistent, but the songs are still distinctive and instantly memorable. I feel like the only track that sticks out is ROMANCE at the end, more upbeat and positive-sounding than anything earlier, but it still has elements that help it gel with the album (some darkness in the verses, Miliyah rapping a little after the first chorus).

On Utopia, I was the most impressed with Shoujo Jidai and wished she'd lean more into that style, and it feels like that's what she did on this album. I love that she went a little more hip hop and a little more dark than she's done on the last few albums.

Favourite songs:
- Femme Fatale, impressive dramatic downtempo, can't put it any better.
- I'm liking I HATE YOU even more now than when it came out, it energizes the album nicely in the beginning, and it's a really catchy song with a nice gritty sound.
- Watashi no Na wa Innocence is AMAZING! The song most reminiscent of Shoujo Jidai, but fully its own entity; the beat is great and the whole arrangement is so lush and pretty; the way Miliyah goes up, then down, and down, and down again at the end - ugh, PERFECTION!
- Anata wa mada Ai wo Shiranai is so slow and so captivating. It feels a little formless in the beginning, but it makes you stick with it, and though it doesn't finish with an explosive climax, the ending is sooo satisfying.
- Kao mo Mitakunai gives me some 2015 EMI MARIA EUPHORIA vibes and I love it! A really cool song.
- Don't Let Me Down's slightly more organic sound is a nice addition to the album. I love Miliyah's vocals on this song, and it's a really nice, heartfelt one.
- BURN? Stunning, chilling. Gives me a little throwback to how I felt hearing Reisei to Jounetsu no Aida for the first time back in 2014, but this is even better. Another perfect downtempo and dramatic track. I love how the vocal melody and most of the instrumentation is slow and dramatic but the fast drums under everything bring a frantic and hasty feeling, the contrast gives the song an exciting and dynamic feel.

So yeah, I think this is absolutely one of Miliyah's best albums, and one of the best things released this year. I hope this impression sticks on repeated listening.
