Speaking about shrinking fanbase, there's a thread on girlschannel about the reasons people stopped being Ayu's fans.
The answers are quite interesting. Some of them include Maro fiasco, blaming divorce on earthquake, bad vocals, saying that she graduated from Kouhaku when in fact she wasn't selected, Party Queen album, marriages with weird foreigners, etc.
Some say they stopped going to her concerts, because they wanted to see just Ayu on stage, singing properly with her band, but she was focusing on dancers instead and the vocals got worse and worse.
