Shield her from criticism... Towards her creative directions, about her decisions, about her theme choices... A lot of stuff Ayu does isn't much expected on pop music... And it took some time for her to be seen as inteligent, sharp and strong.
Even inside the company... Max being named the producers makes it less likely for some of her bolder ideas to be axed.
