'Wadake no Otokotachi' is a home drama that's written by Oishi Shizuka. Wada Yu (Aiba) is a 37-year-old man who worked for a company for the past 15 years. However, the company goes bankrupt due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and he now works as a deliveryman. One day, he meets his stepfather Shuhei (Sasaki Kuranosuke) and grandfather Kan (Danta Yasunori) for the first time in many years and begins living with them.
Meanwhile, by the recommendation of his university senpai, Yu starts working as a reporter for an online news site. This creates a conflict of opinion at home as his stepfather is a reporter at a TV station and his grandfather is an editorial writer for a newspaper company.
