Matsumoto Jun cast in TV Asahi drama 'Tonari no Chikara'

Matsumoto Jun (Arashi) has been cast in the TV Asahi drama 'Tonari no Chikara' to premiere in January.
'Tonari no Chikara' is a home comedy about Nakagoshi Chikara (Matsumoto), a self-proclaimed novelist and father of two children who lives in a Tokyo apartment. Chikara can't help but to get involved in the resident's problems. This will be Matsumoto's first lead role in a TV Asahi drama. The script will be written by Yukawa Kazuhiko, who was also in charge of 'Kaseifu no Mita' and 'Kahogo no Kahoko.'
'Tonari no Chikara' will take over the time slot previously occupied by 'Doctor X ~Gekai Daimon Michiko~.' Matsumoto commented, "Following a doctor who doesn't make any mistakes, I will be playing a half-hearted man full of mistakes lol." He added, "Although difficult situations continue daily, I hope that this will lighten the hearts and give courage to those who watch it. That is the kind of drama I want to create, so please look forward to it."
