Hardware failure. And, like AHS (as well as Stage48), JPS has an issue where the SysOp of the site is 'absent' with its moderators not able to get a reliable contact with him.
Hopefully it's not permanently dead but I'm still concerned since it's been the heart of JPop torrents over the past decade and a half...

SugoiMusic was intended to be the 'backup' to JPS if something like this ever happens, but the problem right now is the aforementioned smaller library that needs to be filled in.
If JPS is permanently dead, that is going to be a huge void in JPop torrenting...
