Fuji TV Unveils Visuals of Star-Studded Cast in Upcoming Historical Drama 'Ooku’

Fuji TV's highly anticipated drama, "Ooku," set to premiere on January 18, 2024, has unveiled the visuals of its main cast members. The series, depicting the intense power struggle among women over the 10th shogun, Tokugawa Ieharu, is set in the mid-Edo period.

Kamenashi Kazuya , a member of KAT-TUN, takes on the pivotal role of Tokugawa Ieharu, the 10th shogun, marking his first appearance in a historical drama. Koshiba Fuka portrays Isonomiya Rinko, the daughter of a court noble forced into a loveless political marriage with Ieharu.

Nishino Nanase, former member of Nogizaka46, and Morikawa Aoi portray attendants to Rinko.

Adding to the cast is Miyadate Ryota from Snow Man, making his debut in a drama series by portraying Matsudaira Sadanobu, the lord of the Shirakawa clan engaged in a rivalry with Ieharu.

The visuals reveal the cast in stunning period costumes, each reflecting the intricacies of their respective roles. The series promises to captivate audiences with its rich storytelling, historical backdrop, and the stellar performances of its talented cast.
