I'm not that surprised because Ayu has something that's very rare: the number of popular songs. I mean, there are a lot of popular artists with huge hits, but maybe they are 4, 5 big hits and some known songs. Ayu may have 8, 10 major hits and DOZENS of popular songs. It's not only her popularity, but her catalogue resonates greatly with people.
