Anybody watch NHK this year?
I only watch clips and I am sad. I haven't been keeping in touch with J-pop in recent years but it felt like J-pop is a thing of the past even in Japan. The Korean influence felt overwhelming. Since the 70's Japanese music has had something special and distinctive in its melodies and instrumentation that seems to be lost in modern music. I personally heavily dislike K-pop and it saddens me to see Japanese music fading away to be taken over by that type of music.
I don't want to offend people who like K-pop, but for me, this type of dance music leaves me completely numb.
