The reason why Best albums sell is because people who normally aren't fans of the artist buy the album to see what the fuss is about...for example I've never owned a single Britney-related thing in my life but I'm getting My Prerogative.
same thing goes for A Best. Ayu was all the rage back in 2001 so even non-Ayu fans got it.
