I don't feel sorry for Ashlee. She never had to convince people she has talent. Even Britney had to audition for the Mickey Mouse Club. But because Ashlee's sister was a B-list blonde popstar who got herself a reality TV hit, she gets an album too despite her lack of singing talent, charisma or any sort of true interest in music. She's manufactured to be the "edgy" Simpson (dark hair!) and earns huge amounts of money for it.
I don't like nepotism and that's the only reason she has anything resembling a career. She never had to work for it, do small shows, get some experience, learn from her mistakes and still want to be a singer despite disappointments. No, straight for the recording studio and SNL! She's not a professional. Shows like this make that perfectly clear.
She can't sing, she can't dance, she can't act: the true triple threat.
From the NY Daily News:
In the upcoming March edition of Teen People, she tells music editor Zena Burns that those who complain about her "are just old people who watch the news and don't know anything about me."
Ashlee, if I lived in the USA I wouldn't be old enough to drink. Will my opinion count?
I don't hate you because I'm old, or only watch the news, or am jus' jellus. I hate you because you suck. I don't have to know you before I can tell that your voice sucks.
...this girl brings out the worst in me. I can enjoy pointless manufactured music; I still have my Spice Girls albums. But Ashlee's so utterly lacking in fun and self-awareness, she comes across as a poser who doesn't even realize how fake her rocker act is.
