In my opinion, the reason why Ayu-Mi-X V didn't sell that well was
1. It was way too rushed!
Yar, she released the & single, then forgiveness, then No Way to Say and finally Memorial Address + the 3 remix albums in a period of 6 months! That's too much for the consumers to stomach in.
Yar, the scheduling was just plain horrid so yar, if they had spread the thing out a little more, I'm sure things would have sold better.
2. Selection of songs
There were repetition of mixes in the Trance remix album, and well, the Non Stop Mega Mix wasn't impressive enough (other than those really good ones like real Me and Voyage (the last track) on the remix album). The Ayu-ro remix album was really good, but yar, I think the Super Eurobeat people still have a lot to work on because it just didn't feel new enough.
I think it was all part of bad planning, and to release all 3 at one go, yar right in the midst of the singles, I think Avex's way too ambitious and seriously, even if Ayu accounts for like 40% of the company's profits, for goodness sake, then have a BETTER marketing strategy or something! Because I seriously think that Avex is making very bad decisions for Ayu in terms of her marketing. Fans might think that Ayu's the one making the decisions and not support her.
Yar, so basically, that was the problem, but I thoroughly enjoyed Ayu-Mi-x IV and III, those were excellent in my opinion. They should bring back Thunderpuss and all the top remixers out there to give Ayu's music a refreshing and great twist!
Yar, combined with a NEW image, like how amazing Ayu-Mi-x IV looked, yup, I'm sure the album will sell! But I just don't know what image should Ayu portray? Haha, I was thinking of her being in this sepia tone with this female pilot image like Amelia Lockhart!
