oh wow hootie! that was so 1990's They were aving this "I love the 90's" on VH1 and they were talking about Hootie, they said something about everyone who sees him (the lead singer) calls him Hootie and he hates it and that hes just been branded forever as hootie

damn, theyd play that "only wanna be with you" NONSTOP on the pop stations here.. now its on the 90's radio station all the time.

I guess they just... really left. I dont see em coming back.. but then again Backstreet Boys were gone and look at em coming back now

Geeze, its times like these that I really do feel grown up so weird.

EDIT: You know, I think Maroon5 kinda reminds me of them, in a way. MusicPlasma says that Matchbox20, Dave Mathews, Barenaked Ladies, and Vertical Horizon as the closest matches (of the known bands)

EDIT 2: The most recent knews on them is from March 1, 2003

Nineties feel-good rockers Hootie & the Blowfish return with a greatest-hits album — and before anyone asks if they even had a second album, let alone enough songs for a collection, it's actually been 10 years since lead singer Darius Rucker and company hit the scene. In addition to chart-toppers such as "Hold My Hand" and "Let Her Cry," the album also contains the band's remake of "Goodbye Girl," the theme song for the television adaptation of Neil Simon's play of the same name.
