I don't see why it's unfair <.< i mean, the people of this country dictate what's popular or not, i'm sure if anyone wanted japanese artists to be equally as important in award shows as they did american artists they'd make it happen. Something you just have to realize is that America tends to stay within the little box it's created; they don't particularly like listening to foreign stars.
This is a generalization, meaning the majority of the US. Not all people, i know for a fact, listen to nothing but american music and despise japanese or other foreign country/language singers.
As for the award, who cares? So Ayu didn't win something; big deal. Ayu can't win it all all of the time. She's gonna suffer defeats.
