This is a generalization, meaning the majority of the US. Not all people, i know for a fact, listen to nothing but american music and despise japanese or other foreign country/language singers.

As for the award, who cares? So Ayu didn't win something; big deal. Ayu can't win it all all of the time. She's gonna suffer defeats.
