However, I don't think her friends were leaving her behind. I think Ayu is really sensitive to the nuances of the human personality (hence her fabulous lyrics), and reads into things more. I agree that she's remembering all the good times they had in that house and mourning its loss while everyone else is more concerned with saving their lives.

In another way, fairyland could also be considered idealism/naivity/childhood innocence. In childhood, everything is perfect, like fairyland, but it eventually has to fall apart. People like Ayu notice it falling apart and try to hold on to it even when its burning down. Other people try to ignore it until it becomes impossible, and then the knowledge of disillusionment becomes to painful to bear (i.e. the fire gets too hot) so they run away and leave it all behind. Eventually, they get settled in reality, a new and different form of fairyland.

Lol... maybe i'm reading into it too much also, but analyzing can be fun.

I think there is a translation floating around with mentioning to childhood.
