I think someone might have mentioned this in another thread, concerning the phrase "my dear" is not adequate to translate "aisuru hito" ...why not use the phrase "my beloved" ?
"my dear" is something a mother or father can call their child, a friend to another friend, not exclusive to express the deep love of a man and woman, as "my beloved" is. Anyways, just my 2 cents
