In some Asian countries, they do point with their middle finger so it's not a big deal. My mom does it sometimes and when I point it out, she laughs it off because it just isn't a problem there (I'm from Hong Kong). It's not like they use it to flick off someone/insult someone or anything like some other cultures do.
I believe that change/experiment is good. You won't know what works for you till you do it. Besides, if Ayu just stuck with one hairstyle or one type of clothing or anything like that, then it'd get boring.
