See that's my problem. I want to play progressive rock like Pink Floyd, Rush, Yes, King Crimson, etc. And punk ''musicians'', I use the word ''musicians'' very loosely in reference to that style because they usually only know three or four chords and base an entire band on just those chords. And there are just too many of them out there. And I mention Yes or Rush to most of the responses I have had and they more or less cringe.

And you are right, while me may not agree on what styles we play. I do respect the Beatles for what they did for music. In fact many prog bands are heavily influenced by the Beatles. Even one piece I am working on has a kind of Beatles vibe to it.
