yeah I've written some things I could see Tool writing.... especially during the month I dropped my E string to match Tool's guitar of course, the similarities weren't intentional- first thing I did when I got my guitar was try to write stuff- I play covers only because I find them fun, so naturally I only learn songs that I would enjoy playing- hence why I don't do Metallica covers as much, because they can get real boring, especially the heavy reliance on power chords.... as for lengths, I never finish a song- all my stuff are verses without chorus or chorus without verse- kind of like the beatles were lol- one member wrote one part of the song, the other wrote the other part most covers I know are Beatles, Nirvana, very little Led Zeppelin and Chuck Berry, Black Sabbath (almost all the way through the solos too), very little Pink Floyd and AC/DC and Aerosmith- I mostly just like experimenting with Blues and chord progressions really
