The backing vocals are soothing and give this songs this ethereal feel to it. I love how the rain theme is consistent in the whole song.

Yes, I totally agree. I think Koda suits hip-hop soul semi tempo songs, not the average j-ballad. She actually sounds manly compared to ayumi (Probably because she sings in a more "western" voice way also though)...
I'm starting to think that rainy day is even better than HEAVEN.
