well, how exactly would you define a b-side?
I've always seen the word (in singles from many different countries) referring to any song on the single that isn't the main song or songs. Even answers.com defines a B-side as referring to "the 'bonus' tracks on a CD single."
generally, covers are still considered "b-sides" when they are extra tracks on singles. but also remember that since music is no longer sold on vinyl records, it's all a misnomer anyway
