It's definetly not sampling, but diden't ayumi release her versions first? Then she would not be the one making the cover, regardless who wrote the melody. But when songs are released this close to each other, it just feels wrong to "label" one as a "cover artist". Same thing happened to dragostea din tei, two identical songs appeared at the same time, but I woulden't consider any of them covers. The maeken trance project one would be considered a cover thoguh.
