Heh. But even if society dicates non-conformity, society sure doesn't agree with non-conformity. It's like the "punker" kids at my school who want to be different, but you can't tell one apart from the other. They're different from everyone else, but exactly the same as each other.
It's also not just the non-conformity bit, it's also the underdog theory (ie:Starbucks = Most popular and well known, but I think Coffee Bean is way better, but there are twenty Coffee Beans like there are Starbucks).
I also just prefer my mp3 player's design to an of the iPod designs.
