Don't worry, it totally confused me at first, too.
The way it works, is, most hubs has a minimum filesharing size -- which means you need to be "sharing" at least 1 GB, or 5 GB, etc. (This will be listed under Min. Share in the listings).
The first thing you should do is, go up to File, Settings, and click on "Sharing". Hit "Add folder" and browse for the folders with all your stuff, and hit "OK". Or you can just do what I did and create one big folder, and move all your videos and whatnot there. Once you add the content, how much you are sharing should be displayed. Leave DC++ running for a bit to "hash" the files then try re-entering the hub.
