I don't think 'unoriginal' would be the best term to use for her newer releases.. In my opinion, the most unoriginal albums (composition-wise) in her discography are A Song for XX and LOVEppears.. You can take basically any song from her debut album and paste it to a Japanese RPG video game. And LOVEppears is just.. techno. However, I think what made those albums so special is her spirit and her lyrics, you can 'feel' Ayu in those songs. Now she's just churning out songs for certain causes (such as Olympics, movies, video games). I don't think she was inspired to write 'Born To Be...', I'm sure it was written specifically for the promotion of the Winter Olympics, and even the PV suggests it.

I don't think she's being herself with this music, I think she's just making excuses because she knows that she has made better. She's 27, she needs to stop with the sugary coated, "it's a beautiful day" engrish fairyland ladies night garbage, and get some influence. Is she trying to market to 10 year old's now? My interest in her upcoming releases is really waning.
